Physical Hardening & Barrier Resistance

[SECTION 02 // ACCESS POINT REINFORCEMENT & STRUCTURAL SECURITY]

Delay Time Is Everything

In physical security, no barrier is completely impenetrable given unlimited time, heavy tools, and zero risk of detection. The objective of Physical Hardening is to maximize forced-entry delay time while forcing intruders to create maximum noise, thereby increasing the probability of immediate detection or abandonment.

Standard residential building codes prioritize quick fire egress over forced-entry resistance. Soft entry points—such as hollow-core exterior doors, short hinge screws, standard glass windows, and basic latch deadbolts—can be breached in seconds. Structural reinforcement converts soft residential targets into high-effort hard targets.

1. Entryway Reinforcement & Lock Mechanics

Over 60% of residential burglaries occur through kick-ins or physical breaches of exterior doors. Standard wood door frames shear easily under physical impact because typical builder-grade strike plates are secured with short 3/4-inch screws that only grip thin trim molding.

HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS // PORTAL HARDENING

Installing heavy-gauge steel door shields, 3-inch hardened steel anchor screws that tie directly into underlying wall studs, and Grade 1 deadbolts with anti-saw hardened steel pins stops kick-in attacks.

2. Glass Shatter Protection & Tactical Lighting

Windows represent the weakest physical perimeter barrier. Standard float glass shatters silently upon impact, providing immediate physical access to internal lock mechanisms or entry points.

TACTICAL HARDENING // GLASS & PERIMETER ILLUMINATION

Applying 8 to 14 mil micro-layered security window film bonded to window frames turns standard glass into impact-resistant safety barriers that withstand repeated blunt force strikes.

[ PHYSICAL HARDENING TESTS IN PROGRESS // MUCH MORE TO COME ]

Our technical team is currently evaluating strike-plate reinforcement kits, heavy-duty door barricades, and glass break film strength ratings.
